Hi cuties! Hope you are well. I know it's been a while but I've wanted to come back since forever and what better time than this collab with Blippo Kawaii Shop.

Si no la conocen, Blippo Kawaii Shop es una tienda japonesa que, junto a Kawaii Box, pertenece al grupo Blippo. Estas tiendas se dedican a la venta de productos con temática kawaii (desde dulces, accesorios, juguetes, productos de oficina, la escuela y el hogar).

If you don't know about them, which I doubt, Blippo Kawaii Shop, is an online japanese store that belongs to Blippo. They sell kawaii themed products (candy, accessories, toys, stationary, among other things).

En esta ocasión, decidieron lanzar un paquete de mascarillas desechables (o cubre bocas como le llamamos donde vivo) con estampado "kawaii" para que luzcamos súper cute cada vez que necesitemos salir de casa. 

This time, Blippo Kawaii Shop launched their package of "kawaii" disposable masks to look super cute and stay safe when we need to go out.

Les comparto unas fotos para que las puedan ver en todo su precioso esplendor y luego veremos qué tal funcionan, si son cómodas, qué tan diferentes son de una mascarilla desechable regular y de una de tela y, un detalle importante, si es posible lavarlas y reutilizarlas.

Let's see how pretty they look and then we'll talk about how they work, if they're confortable, how different they are from a regular disposable mask and if we can try to wash them and reuse them.

Diseño: Como verán, el diseño es precioso. Creo que en este apartado no tengo problemas porque ya por sí sólo es mucho más bonito que las mascarillas desechables habituales. Así que en este sentido se queda con la mejor calificación. La impresión es impecable.

Design: As you can see the design is so pretty. I think we can all agree they are far more prettier than the regular disposable mask. But I really love the detail and the illustrations. 

Funcionalidad: Me parecen bastante funcionales. No son mascarillas sencillas ya que tienen tres capas de tela para hacerlas más seguras. Se extienden lo suficiente para cubrir la nariz y la barbilla.

Hice algunas pruebas soplando y (gracias a mi alergia estacional) estornudando y no es mucho el aire que pasa a través de la mascarilla. Esto sumado a la sana distancia y medidas de higiene (lavarnos las manos y usar gel anti-bacterial) parece ser suficiente para prevenir contagios. No hay que olvidar que estas mascarillas no son de uso médico.

Functionality: I think they work great. The fabric isn't thin because they have 3 layers which I think makes them safer. Also, they extend enough to cover nose, mouth and chin perfectly.

I also tried blowing and sneezing (thanks to my seasonal allergies) and not that much air gets through it. That plus safe distancing, washing our hands and applying sanitizer and we should be fine. Don't forget these face masks aren't for medical use.

Comodidad: Son bastante cómodos pero si necesité ajustar los cordones que se colocan alrededor de las orejas haciéndoles un nudo ya que me quedaban un poco grandes. También tuve algunos problemas con la banda que queda sobre la nariz porque me costó un poco amoldarla bien bien a mi nariz lo que provocó que se empañaran un poco mis gafas. Nada grave, pero creo que es un dato a considerar y que no me ha sucedido con otras mascarillas desechables.

Comfort: They're pretty confortable but I had to adjust the earloops a bit 'cause they were a bit large for me. Also I had a bit of trouble adjusting the nose band which made my glasses fog a bit. Nothing too harsh but I think that may be something to have in mind if you purchase them.

¿Reutilizables?: Los metí a la lavadora, luego a la secadora y puedo decir que siguen intactos. El diseño no se desgastó y la banda de la nariz no perdió forma. Creo que si podría ser posible reutilizarlos una o dos veces más en situaciones de bajo riesgo pues no podemos ignorar el hecho de que al pasar la mascarilla por la secadora la tela pierde grosor y por lo tanto protección. 

Reusable?: I put them in the washing machine and the dryer and they still look perfect. The design is still there and the nose band didn't loose shape. I think they could be used again once or twice more at low risk places but we can't forget that each time we put the masks into the drier they wear and lose protection.

Blippo's VS Mascarilla desechable común:

Pros: Definitivamente es mucho más bonita que una mascarilla común y entre las dos creo que prefiero esta.

Contras: La banda de la nariz, no es tan cómoda, pero ambas comparten ese contra de ser desechables.

Blippo's Vs Regular Disposable Mask:

Pros: As I said they are definitely prettier than the regular mask and that's why I prefer this one.

Cons: I had a bit of a trouble with the nose band. Also they're both disposable.

Blippo's VS Mascarilla de tela:

Pros: Definitivamente me parece más cómoda que una mascarilla de tela, se amolda mejor a mi rostro y me permite usar mis gafas sin grandes problemas.

Contras: Es desechable. Definitivamente ese va a ser el mayor contra con estas mascarillas. Son muy bonitas, pero de verdad me causa un gran conflicto y es la razón por la que al menos yo seguiría eligiendo mascarillas de tela. Me habría gustado muchísimo que también hubiesen lanzado este diseño así. Por supuesto, esta es sólo mi postura y si tu quieres pedirlo es perfectamente válido. La verdad es que a pesar de esto, sí creo usarlos en ocasiones especialmente kawaii y trataré de alargar su vida un poco más.

Blippo's Vs Reusable Mask:

Pros: I think Blippo's are more confortable because even with that small problem with the nose band it adjusts better to the shape of my nose.

Cons: It's disposable. That's my biggest con for environmental reasons. But either way I still love them and will try to use them in a responsible way.

Calificación: 9/10

Fue bastante difícil calificar estas mascarillas porque son muy bonitas y obviamente son para nuestra seguridad, pero me desanima bastante que sean desechables. A pesar de eso, son funcionales y bastante cómodas una vez las acoplas a tu rostro. Le bajo un puntito por no ser 100% reutilizables.

Grade: 9/10 

It was really hard to grade this masks because they are so pretty and obviously so important for our health and safety. Either way, they are pretty confortable. I took a point just because they aren't reusable.
